Training categories

Companies can post third-country nationals to Austria for:

  • Joint venture training (up to 6 months)
  • Intra-company training programs at the Austrian headquarter (up to 50 weeks)
  • Junior executive rotation programs within multinational groups

All require AMS notification and Confirmation Authorizing Employment (Anzeigebestätigung). Exchange programs (AIESEC, ELSA, IAESTE, Erasmus+) are exempt from standard requirements.

Visa requirements

Up to 6 months: Visa D for gainful employment

Over 6 months: Residence Permit for Special Cases of Gainful Employment
